Mid Michigan Gymnastics USA invites you to the Coaching and Medical Provider Performance Workshop which will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 in Freeland MI from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Hosted by MMG in partnership with Brandi Smith-Young, PT, FAAOMPT, OSC, Founder of Perfect 10.0 Physical Therapy and Performance Training.
This hands on workshop will teach the sport-specific tools needed in the gym to assess functional movement, improve performance, accelerate the rehabilitation of injuries and to prevent future injuries. Smith-Young was a former collegiate gymnast on the Texas Woman’s University two-time USAG Collegiate National Championship team and uses this experience, as well as her cheerleading experience and prior gymnastic coaching, to work effectively and efficiently with athletes and their coaches.
In conjunction, a Functional Movement Screen and Corrective Exercise Workshop will be held Sunday, December 3rd, 2017 for Individual Gymnasts along with their Coaches/Trainers. Attendees will receive a sports specific functional movement assessment to reveal weaknesses that need to be strengthened or balanced. Customized, highly targeted yet gentle workouts will be developed for each gymnast utilizing their assessment results.
